Things I thought I would be doing in January:

Celebrating my 34th birthday 35 weeks pregnant with no wine.
Setting up the baby’s room and clothes and maybe ordering him some diapers.
Working more than two weeks at my new job.
Taking our car for registration.
Making it to at least 37 weeks and reaching the point in your pregnancy where you’re uncomfortable and ready for that baby to arrive.

What I ended up doing:

Welcoming the sweetest, loveliest little boy who we named Malcolm Noah 9 weeks early.  My water broke New Years Eve at 31 weeks.  While it was definitely scary to give birth at 31 weeks we were lucky that we were near a great hospital, with an amazing NICU.  Our second son was born on January 2 at 12:20 weighing 4 pounds 3 ounces at 16 and a half inches long.  If this boy had stayed in for another nine weeks he would have been nine pounds like his brother.  But we were lucky he was on the big end of 31 week old babies and only needed a little help with his breathing.  This helped us only spend three weeks in the NICU.  He has been so strong and I can already tell he’s going to fit right in around here.

After nearly four weeks in the hospital we finally got home last Sunday. Its been amazing being close all three of my boys.
