Smorgasbord

A smorgasbord of pictures of the past couple weeks.  Mostly Iphone pictures, so don’t expect anything fancy.
1. Lots of book reading.
Oh wait, that’s Adam, here’s Malcolm!

2. Celebrating our wonderful nephew/cousin Roman’s fifth birthday beautiful niece Isla’s second birthday from afar but with lots of love!

3. Passing time in traffic during the looong commute home.

4. Adam’s first play, Pinocchio.  He was scared at first and at certain times but overall it was a great experience.  He loved it and we spent a lot of time talking about the differences between plays and movies. It was nice to have a little Adam and parents time as well.  Adam has been so great with Malcolm, attentive, loving and not jealous that it makes it even more special when we get to spend some time to focus on him.

When I asked Adam who he wanted to take pictures with he only wanted pictures with the the cat and the fox (who even knew they were in Pinnochio), but as soon as we squeezed our way up front they were just saying their goodbyes.  Thankfully, Adam just rolled with it and was happy getting hamburgers and ice-cream instead.

5. Malcolm moved out of our room and into his own room! I miss having him right near me but it is nice to be able to read books in our bed again instead of having to quietly sneak in in the dark.  The Arms Reach co-sleeper was amazing and we used it the entire time Malcolm was in our room.

I love when babies reach the stage that they sleep with their butts up in the air.

6. Every day when we get home from work we all spend a half hour on our bed.  All four of us will cuddle and talk and hang out.  It’s my favorite part of the day.

7.  We had two fun dinners with friends at a new restaurant in Manila called Blackbird. Now that Malcolm is older we’ve been going out more with our friends and just us.  It’s been nice to spend time with other adults 🙂
Blackbird is located in Manila’s old airport terminal and is a beautiful building and courtyard.  The food was yummy too.

Our fun dinner companions, my good friends Allison and Jackie, aka Victoria’s and Devon’s mommys.  I’m so lucky to have met such wonderful friends here.  I love them both andI love that our children are such good friends.  Devon and Victoria are Adam’s best friends here.

8. We decided to try Ihop over here.  It was markedly less good than Blackbird, but Adam enjoyed his pancakes.

9.  We took Grandma Gertch or ‘Ama Lerch’ as Adam calls her 🙂 to a local handicrafts store and found this beautiful ‘Kulintang a Kayo’ or Wooden Xylophone.  Adam loves it and we do too.

We also picked up this guy.  We’re actually moving apartments in two weeks (long story but our landlord isn’t renewing our lease so the Embassy is moving us to a nearby building which is also super nice)…so we’ll have to find a new fun place for these two additions in our new home.  For now they’re just handing out in our living room.

10.  This little guy is almost too big for his chair! I know I say this all the time but I can’t believe he’s already this big!

11. These two cuties had a play date. Before we know it they’ll be hand holding and going on dates!
