Stilts

We had a three day weekend for Labor Day and decided to drive to the beach for a night.  While the Philippines has many beautiful beaches on islands but we haven’t had much luck with beaches within driving distance of Manila.  But with Monday off and this place Stilts recommended to us we headed off for the night.  We made it the whole two and a half hours in the car with no tears! Although towards the end we had turned into this! We are very lucky, both boys like the car and can go on long car trips with us.  Road trip across the US here we come 🙂

We got there just in time for lunch. Someone wasn’t sure about the food.

1our little hut was very cute.  We all got comfy and then put our bathing suits on.

Look what was next to the pool!  A caribou!

Here’s where things took a turn for the better for me.  Malcolm and I headed back so Malcolm could nap and luckily he fell asleep super quickly which left me time to enjoy this.

I even snuck in a nice long nap.  Adam and Randy came back from the pool and hung out on the hammock and played and read and left us to sleep.  Once Malcolm and I woke up we all showered and got ready for dinner.

We had some time so we took a long walk on the beach.  A beach this beautiful deserves a long walk.

A quick outfit change after someone insisted on washing his cars off in the ocean.

After our long walk we headed up for dinner outside.  The food was pretty good.

Here is where our night away took a turn for the worse.  When we got home after dinner and got ready to go to bed we realized there were bug everywhere.  They quickly moved us to another cabin but for us it was too late.  We stayed the night because we had two tired little boys but were up and out early the next morning.  We did take some time for pictures and cuddles of course.

We headed out and went to Antonios for breakfast on out way home.  It’s the most famous restaurant in Tagatay and it was delicious! Even though it’s an hour away from Manila I’m sure we’ll be back!

The most delicious hot chocolate ever!

Even though this view is through a screen you can still see how beautiful our view was.  We were there really early (thanks to the two early risers we have) and it was nice to be there so early and eat in the fresh air, something that doesn’t happen too often in Manila!

On our way out we found this magazine with my friend Jackie on the cover! Jackie is Devon’s mom and originally from Brooklyn and loads of fun.  She just opened an awesome baby store in Manila and was in Town and Country talking about it! Adam was really excited, actually he was really excited to eat the magazine 🙂

All in all it was nice to get away from Manila for the night and see something different and witness a beautiful sunset.  But we won’t be back to that hotel.  Our search for a hotel within driving distance of Manila continues.
