Bedtime

What are we reading these days.  Current favorites are Curious George (despite Adam being scared of monkeys he loves George) and anything Farm related, like Click Clack Moo and Little Blue Truck.

I love how even when we read the same book that we’ve read a hundred times, Adam still notices something new and asks about it.  I also love how when we try to read through a book quickly because we’re ready to get Adam to bed so we can watch House of Cards or Sons of Anarchy, he’ll stop us and say ‘no mommy, talk about it’.  He loooves hearing about things in detail.  I love my little detail oriented boy. 

I also love how he also manages to keep stretching out his bedtime.  We’ve gone from taking a bath, reading a book and singing songs to……taking a bath, reading 2-3 books, saying goodnight to everyone- which orinally included Maria, Malcolm and the fish (who has since moved on to greener pastures down our pipe), and now includes saying goodnight to Maria, Malcolm and every picture of Adam in the house with a detailed description of who is in each one, two rounds of Happy Birthday to the current trending item (last night it was the cookies we made for his moving out of the buidling party for his friends at the playground with sprinkles on top- try saying that three times fast) and 3-5 rounds of wheels on the bus. But really, he’s doing us a favor, and making sure we don’t speed through Sons of Anarchy and have nothing to watch, so thank you Adam! 

Poor Malcolm has been sick but he is finally today starting to feel better so lots of cuddling and reading on the agenda. Even through a terrible cold and cough he’s still smiling and cooing. Of course he’s no longer sleeping through the night but you can’t deny a sick baby cuddles! His favorite past time is chewing on the books but he’s already on his way to loving books as much as his big brother!
