Curious Malcolm

Of course in Ali fashion, Malcolm’s birthday has to be celebrated for over a week.  For Malcolm’s first birthday we wanted to have a special party to celebrate the wonderful year we had with him.  He is such a curious little peanut we went with a Curious George party.  It was a really nice brunch at our house with all of his little baby friends and some older siblings for Adam.
We turned Randy’s office into a playroom for the kids.  He loved it and said we should leave it like this forever!

Adam and Malcolm tested out the ball pit before our guests arrived.  Adam was so excited about Malcolm’s birthday party and kept kissing him and saying Happy Birthday Malcolm,  Adam is so into birthdays I was worried he would feel jealous but we talked a lot about the party and how it was a special day for Malcolm but would be a fun day for everyone.

I had big plans for a family photo but we only made it this far.

Before we knew it all our friends had arrived! Malcolm and Adam loved it and had so much fun.

We made too much food as always. It was fun to make breakfast foods instead of the usual dinner fare.  Adam helped me make some yummy banana chocolate chip muffins and I made a french toast dish and deviled eggs.  We had a Greek salad, string bean salad, fruit, yummy bagels and smoked salmon.

After a yummy brunch it was time for Malcolm’s cake! I think he knew cake was coming.  It’s usually a negotiation getting him in the highchair but this time he slid right into that chair.

Little peanut trying trying to peek at his cake.
I was worried he would cry but he didn’t! He was so curious and looking around.

Adam and I helped Malcolm blow out his candle and I made a wish for him.

I gave Malcolm his own piece to eat and I think he couldn’t believe his luck.

After exploring the cake a bit, he dug right in!

A quick outfit change later Malcolm was able to enjoy the rest of the party.

After the party Adam ‘helped’ him open his presents.

We are so very lucky to have this little guy in our family.  He fits us perfectly.  He laughs at all Adam’s jokes, he cuddles and kisses me all the time and he loves food as much as his daddy.  He always has a smile for us and loves to talk.  He is strong and knows what he wants and still easygoing and sweet. Happy Birthday Malcolm, we love you!!
