For Uncle Nooj’s last full day in Manila (also his second) we decided to live it up. We left the kids at home and went to the Champagne Brunch at the Sofitel. We’ve been hearing about this brunch since we moved to Manila but we had no idea what we were in for. The food was delicious, the champagne was amazing and unlimited and the whole afternoon was so much fun. The only thing that would have made it better is if Aunt Das was there with us. All the champagne you can drink, she would have been there right with me!
We got there early and walked outside to see the Manila Bay then it was inside at 11:45 on the dot to make sure we maximized the three hours of eating and drinking!
Highlights-
The cheese room! So many yummy imported cheeses and even more jams, honeys and dips to go with the cheeses. I may have gone back to this room three times.
Leg of lamb, picture says it all.
So many choices! There was something for everyone, dumplings, sushi, korean bbq, roast beef, homemade pastas. And just when you thought you couldn’t take another bite, dessert. This is where I missed the boys. Adam would have loved this! Three chocolate fountains, one white, one light and one dark chocolate, 20 flavors of gelato, candies, chocolates anything the heart desires. I did bring Adam home a chocolate teddy bear lollipop.
After our enormous brunch it was home for some relaxing time with the boys. Chocolate lollipop seen below before it was gobbled down in five minutes.
Then it was, all too soon, time for Uncle Nooj to go. We all drove him to the airport and poor Adam cried when he left. Malcolm cried too, but he was just tired and fell asleep 🙂
We love you Uncle Nooj and we loved spending the weekend with you. Thanks for coming to visit us!
Here are Uncle Nooj’s top three (I always ask for the top three besides seeing the boys because I know that will always be everyone’s top three):
1) the dinner on Friday night/the speakeasy place
2) the Saturday dinner and City of Dreams* (and of course the drive to CoD)
3) the Sunday brunchBonus! anytime I got to spend hanging out with the boys!
*City of Dreams is the new casino in Manila and due to Valentines Waze took MJ and Randy through some mean streets of Manila to avoid traffic. MJ said it was interesting to see some of the reality of Manila since we live in a pretty nice bubble.
