Then I took a quick bathroom break, which looked like this from the inside. And no, I have not gone to the bathroom alone in three and a half years, thank you for asking. This is probably the closest I’ve gotten.
Then it was time for another boat trip! I had arranged a local boat to take us around to a couple beaches, so off we went.
Don’t worry we wore our life vests.
And toook our obligatory nap on the boat.
Boy oh boy was this beach worth it! There was not a sole on it but us, the water was bathwater warm and there were tons of fun things to look at on the beach.
All in all a great day! The next morning the first of three typhoons started to roll into the Philippines. We got on probably the last boat out of Puerto Gallera and made it back safe and sound thanks to our awesome boat driver. It was definitely an adventure! It was great to spend the weekend away with Grandma.
We made it back but they couldnt go all the way to the pier where our car was parked, which meant some waiting under the only cover we could find. But we made it home safe and sound and basically hibernated the next 5 daysa until the rains stopped! At least we squeezed in one beach day!
Doesn’t this look like fun 🙂 At least we were dry! And there were chickens all around to keep Malcolm amused. That’s the reality of rainy season here, one second you’re walking on a beautiful beach collecting seashells and the next you’re huddled under a motorcycle hutch distracting your one year old with chickens.
What a wonderful little vacation with all the Filipino trappings – amazing people and beaches, rain, crowded loos and some delays. Love that you had a blast with Gerch. xxx
