Ali's Day off

For as long as I can remember when Randy and I travel we keep moving. Even through jet lag and two kids we push on and try to see and experience as much as we can. This works for us and we are always happy when we get home and have done all we wanted to do.  And with this this trip to the U.S. there is so much we wanted to see and pack in and so many family and friends to enjoy.
But every once in a while it was nice to take some time off from being tourists and get to relax. Especially with so many new toys from all our wonderful family and friends who showered the boys with gifts while we were in the US!

Next we moved outside and watched these garbage men load 20 dumpsters. It was pretty exciting for Adam who has never seen a real garbage truck. Don’t ask, I have zero idea how garbage is collected in Manila, all I know is in our buidling is that we put it by the garbage area and it disappears. The garbage here is picked through is thoroughly for stuff to sell but that is a conversation for another day.

I love that Adam was so enthralled. I also love that we had no agenda and I was able to watch with him the whole 30 minutes it took these guys to empty all this trash. It reminded me of the days before I went back to work when Adam and I would take long walks for hours.

Then it was off to the playground. The playgrounds in New York never fail- sand pits, water fountains, huge slides! Not a bad day off!
