Dinosaurs, sharks and penguins, oh my!

We had a couple days in Bangkok at the end of our trip and we’ve already seen a lot of the traditional sightseeing spots we decided to focus our time in Bangkok on some fun activities with the boys.
First stop, where else, the aquarium of course! The aquarium in Manila is one of Adam’s favorite things to do and I knew he would love this one. Malcolm was a little scared at first but once he realized the fish weren’t going to eat him he got into it too! This museum was fantastic! It was just the right size and cool (important in hot, humid Manila). We spent three hours there and probably could have stayed longer if we weren’t hungry.
Adam’s favorite were the sharks and Malcolm’s were the penguins.

The museum had this awesome activity where you could draw your fish and the museum scans your picture and your fish comes to life and swims away. Each boy must have colored 5 fishes to be scanned. Luckily there wasn’t a line and no one minded.

Get ready for some excitement right here. Here is not one but two videos of scanned colored fish for you all!

Because the boy had been so great this trip, we decided to treat them to one toy each at the aquarium gift shot. Someone was very excited. Malcolm was excited too, but he napped through our lunch and wasn’t available for photos.

We also went to the new Dinosaur Planet which was right down the block from our hotel!

I learned two important things during this sightseeing adventure. One is that poor Malcolm is terrified of large moving dinosaurs. Once again, glad to see his fear level is entirely rational!

Second, I learned that I am not built to wait on long lines which are there for absolutely no reason. Especially in the Bangkok heat and humidity. So maybe I am not ready for Disneyland quite yet.

Thankfully instead of waiting on line with daddy to buy tickets we were able to take this jeep out for a spin, Jurassic Park style.

Co-pilot

Road rage…..

Once we were in, there were lots of fun dinosaurs to climb…

and stories about asteroids and dinosaurs…

and dinosaur bones!

Don’t worry Adam, it’s not real!

This was a dinosaur egg lab, which was great. Except for when the pretend Tyrannosaurus Rex attacked and poor Malcolm almost had a heart attack.

But in the end, he only ended up eating Adam!

Like all kids places, through the gift shop was the only way out. Which resulted in tears of course when we did not buy another overpriced toy as we had in the aquarium….thankfully we were in Bangkok so down the block we cut a deal with our two crying children and bought this for a dollar. Worth every penny.
After that we went back to this super cute restaurant that Daphne and I had gone to- Quince and since it was Easter they had a cute Jazz band playing, so we ended up staying all afternoon. It was a perfect afternoon and the best adult complement to a morning of dinosaurs,
