Best of Beijing

One of the places I have always wanted to go is to see the Great Wall. Beijing was just where it happened to be. I was pretty surprised when I got to Beijing and loved it.
There are so many things I loved about Beijing. The obvious ones like the Wall and the Forbidden Palace are of course I knew would make my list.  Then there were those things that totally came out of nowhere.  Number one was our hotel.  We stayed at the Rosewood and this place definitely makes it to my list of the best of Beijing! This hotel was amazing! There was even an indoor pool. We of course made sure to check it out.

There were super comfy beds.

We even had lounge access which was fantastic! Wine, champagne, yummy snacks! It was where we ended up every day at 5:30.

Number two on my list on of best of Beijing is the food! The food was so good in Beijing. We went right from the airport to the hotel restaurant and it was amazing. It was so good Randy even agreed to go back the last night. This never happens on vacation, Randy always tells me that when you go back  a second time on vacation its never as good. This time we went back to this restaurant on our last night in Beijing and it was still delicious! Every meal we had in Beijing was worth going back to.

While it was hard at times I loved being in the cold weather in Beijing.  I loved bundling up and bundling up the boys. I thought they would fight it but they loved wearing coats and hats.  Or maybe it was just so cold they knew it was the only option.

Number four on my list for Beijing was hanging out with my favorite people.

Next up is the Panjiayuan Flea Market. This Market was the best market I have ever been to. I was expecting China Town in New York and instead I got a Manila Mall during a Manny Pacquio fight (ghost town empty for those not in Manila).  It was so easy to walk around and it had the coolest stsuff. If i could only go back and buy so much more!

Even Adam was a fan.

Adam has become so into Don’t signs, he loves figuring them out. There were awesome ones all around Beijing but this one was Adam’s favorite.

Our first day in Beijing we went to the Temple of Heaven.  Once again Beijing blew me away. We walked into a beautiful park with amazing temples all over.  Adam and Malcolm have been watching Kung Fu Panda lately and Adam right away decided that this building is where Tai Lung had hidden the magic scroll.

We stopped in front of the Temple to practice some Kung Fu moves.

(My poor tropical babies are so not used to cold weather)

Next up on Beijing’s list is how cool it was. I never expected that Beijing would be so cool.  We spent our second half of our first day in 789 Art Zone.  It had art galleries and art all over the street.  It was so modern and fun.

We even went to an art gallery and it was one of the best art galleries I have ever been to. The artist was a Chinese artist, Zeng Fanzhi and his art work was so interesting.

In case you’re wondering how we were able to walk around an art gallery and enjoy it with two little boys. Well here you go. We only break out the kindles on vacations but this right here was genius.

And last on my list is of course duck, duck, duck .

More on the Wall coming up!
