Balesin

Fro the past four years that I have been friends with Jackie and Allison we have been talking about going away together.   Well, we finally got our act together and our husband and kids and headed off to the beach!  We headed off to Balesin, a private island close to Manila.  You even get to take a private plane. All 17(!) of us headed off to the airport and waited for our flight.  Victoria tucked Adam under her blanket so she wouldn’t get cold.  These two spend all day talking about how they’re getting married so they’re already all set up for growing old together.
Then we headed out to board our plane….

Just kidding, we headed out to board our plane…

Ha, just kidding again. Although we had no idea what to expect so it was a relief that our plane was decent sized. It also left on time *a rarity in Manila.

When we arrived we had this beautiful view.

And private Jeepneys to take us all around. The island has only the resort and the resort has over 10 different little villages modeled after different countries. Our first stop, the Greek Village of course.

Adam and Victoria danced every time the band played and these guys showed up at every meal. Not only did they show up at every meal but they knew how to play everything! And the kids loved them.

Oh this Greek meal, it was the best Greek meal I’ve had in the Philippines and I’m pretty sad I can’t have it every day.

Don’t mind Malcolm’s I’m ready for a nap face, he was enjoying himself I promise!

After lunch some of us went to the Spa, some of went to the beach and some of us napped.  I’ll let you figure out who did what.

We took the kids to dinner and then left them to have a sleepover (with nannies of course) and went to a grown up dinner that didn’t start until 8 o’clock!

The next day was a little rainy.  Luckily all our friends were around to keep us busy and there’s always swimming in the hot tub. Never gets old.

The next morning we were heading back and of course the weather was perfect. But we managed to enjoy it.  We had a long lazy breakfast outside, walked to the end of the pier, climbed some trees and soaked in the last few minutes of being on vacations with friends.
