US of A

Oh boy am I behind…but I’m currently on furlough- not working during the shutdown and have time to try to catch up on life. So here we are. Way back to when we arrived in October it was a crazy time. We were all excited to be in the U.S. but with me in full time training to join the Foreign Service, both boys starting a new school and everyone getting used to wearing scarves and gloves there was a lot on all of our plates.
But first the amazing view from my window. Our apartment here is one the State Department gave us and its pretty small and unremarkable but man on man do I love this view!
I also love seeing this cutie and all my cuties in winter gear. It’s such a novelty for us!

We had a lot of work to do to make our new apartment comfy. I had promised the boys bunk beds so we spent the first week settling in and building Ikea furniture. Thankfully I had this guy to help me build.

The highlight of our first weekend in our home was getting to actually pick out a pumpkin from a farm for the first time! In Manila we would usually just go to the one supermarket that would sell 30 dollar pumpkins….

But it was a super cold day and the Alis have some thin skin!

But we still had fun and both Grandmas were there to spend the day with us.

We got to explore CVS and all it has to offer.

Then it was off to one of the beautiful playgrounds in Virginia.

Adam started Arlington Science Focus and had great start to first grade in the U.S.

And Malcolm started Arlington Children’s Center.
