Limits

Just a week after we arrived in the U.S. we were lucky enough to have this guy visit us.

I love many things about Randy but one thing I really love is how he pushes me to do more than I ever think I can do and oh how he loves a packed day.  It’s also amazing how much easier it is to move three kids around (with no car) with an extra person!

Day two of his visit we piled the kids into Grandma Gertch’s car and headed to our old neighborhood in Capital Hill. This was one of Randy’s great ideas. We don’t know our new neighborhood in Rosslyn verywell so going to Capital Hill was perfect.  We headed to Ted’s Bulletin, this yummy breakfast place we used to go to when Adam was just a baby and we lived in Capital Hill.

This one was all googly eyes for daddy!  It’s like they never spend any apart.  It really is amazing what a strong bond they have!

Then we went to a park near our old home that we used to take Adam to all the time when he was a a baby.

Look how much he’s grown!

And these two were but distant twinkles in our eyes back then!

Here they all are in front of our old house!

Here is another example of a day that I would NEVER have even thought of on my own.  We went to meet some people from my training class at the Natural History Museum. Everyone loved it.

This is where I would have gone home, but Randy suggested we go to lunch. Despite one meltdown where Adam refused to sit at our table for the first tent minutes (I can’t remember why…) it went spendidly once everyone got some french fries.

After that we even went shopping! Miral slept the entire time and Randy was able to get this amazing sweater.

After this big day I would have gone home and called it a day…but Randy was SO excited about the Knicks playing in DC and he wanted to go to the game with us.  A game that started at 7 pm.  On Day Light savings day when 7 was really 8!!  Against my better judgment I agreed, because I knew Randy really wanted to go AND I knew that the boys would love it AND I knew that no matter what happened he would help me and everything would be fine. And this right here is why no matter what Randy suggests, even if I think it’s crazy, I agree- because he is right there with me and almost always it it fantastic.  And boy was he right about this one.  We took the metro to the game and the boys loved it!

We got snacks and popcorn and the game was super fun!

Here is another fun day that I fought – see a trend here- I am always wrong and we should always just do what Randy wants (don’t tell him- we’ll find out if he actually reads these.)  We met our friends there and it was one of the last warm days of the year and tons of fun.

We all can’t wait until Randy is back in DC with us so we can have more adventures!  I am missing my limit pushing partner tons!!
