Market Day

After our failed market trip on Sunday, I decided to have another go at it.  I was told by a vendor that Wednesday is a good day to go. It’s a whole sale market day and open from 8-12.  By the time I got Adam up (his jet lag has him sleeping in until 10), dressed and out the door it was close to 11.

With all the metro transfers and stairs that I decided to ergo Adam. I don’t resort to the Ergo often and once I had us all ready to go and loaded up the baby, diaper bag and camera bag I remembered why.

I opted to just go with the stroller. My logic was that carrying the stroller up and down stairs was easier than carrying everything the entire time.  I figured this would also limit my purchase since there is only so much weight I can carry and I already had this 18 pounds loaded up.

Sadly, the Mets hat was a casualty of the Market. Adam decided to donate it to a Russia baby and threw it off his head. We hope some cute Russian baby is getting good use out of it.

We walked to the Metro. A couple of staircases, transfers and stops we had arrived.

Outside our Metro stop
Bilyet Machine
Krasnopresnevskaya stop
Waiting patiently for our train (which come every 90 seconds!)

Before we knew it we arrived at the Market. It was everything I had dreamed of. Matroshkas as far as the eye could see.
Sadly, we arrived around 12:30 and people were already packing up. I managed to snag a few toys for Adam, but we’ll have to make another trip to the market.
My favorite purchase of the day was this Christmas ornament! This cosmonaut will get a place of pride on our Christmas tree.

  1. I bought a couple toys for Adam, but there isn't tons of shopping or maybe I can't find it yet. There is really pricey stuff and really cheap stuff but have yet to find the middle.
